Organic dried ginger

Ginger has long been hailed and used to improve health in India, to cure stomach disorders, for losing weight, reducing inflammation and much more.  When Ginger is dehydrated, one of its compounds, gingerol, is reduced, but curiously increasing the levels of other compounds like shaogol which actually has similar benefits to gingerol.  End result you still get the health benefits like anti-inflammatory properties and consequently the taste is more pungent (spicy) and less nuanced.  So dried ginger won’t have flavor notes of the fresh ginger but it does have the health benefits. Approx 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger is equal to 1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger.


Suggested guide

Approx 1.4 grams (1/2 tsp) makes ginger chai serving two people.

  • For one person, 40 grams every three months.
  • For a family of four, 120 grams every three months.
